In an effort to better understand the influence of gender diversity on the functioning of the board, and how these differences can be leveraged, a research team from Université du Québec à Montréal (UQAM) interviewed 29 female and male directors on Canadian boards. Their findings show that both men and women offer unique and valuable contributions to company boards and by welcoming difference, companies could help promote an inclusive environment that encourages women to continue to perform their jobs in their own distinct way.
